Altruism in Oregon 

The Women of Oregon Alpha Delta Kappa are current and former teachers, focusing on altruism in their home turf as well as statewide, regionally and internationally.   In this section, find out about reoccurring and one-time projects they've chosen to undertake that fulfills the ADK mission of altruism.

Chapter Projects this year included donations to food banks, schools, domestic violence home shelters, relief nurseries, Homeless Education Programs, high school urban farm programs, memorial funds, and more.  More later from specific Chapters on their good works and where their donations were gifted.  Listed below are some of the projects during this past year in the State Altruistic Report:

~Annual auctions and flower sales

~ Bowling Party 50/50 fundraiser

~ Pizza fundraiser

~ Garage sales

~ Christmas Bake & Craft Sales

~ Holiday Auction

~ Rada knives sales at fall and winter bazaars

~ Prepared and sold greeting cards

~ Sent valentines to nursing home residents

~ Sent valentines to over 200 school district personnel and towns experiencing severe winter

~ Collected money from recycling bottles, cans and pull tabs for Ronald McDonald House.

~ Provided funds for childcare of a member's family whose child is severely ill

~ State Convention Sales

~ State Board Meeting Sales

~ Sponsoring Awards for young students with science fair projects (NW Science Expo)

~ Volunteer work at PTA Clothes Closet (Portland Public Schools)
